@andre, in this case, X/Y doesn’t apply. I want to create hyperlinks to the commit-specific versions of the source, so that regardless of whether the website is available in the future, I remain able to observe its content. Archive.org
is an inferior solution to this, because rather than providing the source that one can then render, one is stuck with the rendered source from whatever basic client its servers visited with.
There is no “source markup”: the “wiki” is a static HTML snapshot created at the time when wiki.gnome.org was retired.

Originally, it was. Now it’s not. It’s literally a static snapshot.
