What is the difference between Eye of Gnome and Gnome Photos

What is the difference between these 2 applications:
Eye of Gnome and Gnome Photos.
Is one of them meant to be deprecated or both are going to continue?
Is one of them meant to be used for mobile form factors? like Librem 5/Pine phone?

GNOME photos is for viewing all your pictures in one place. Eye of GNOME is for viewing one image at a time. It has more convenience features for this use case. GNOME Photos is probably going to stay as-is, but Eye of GNOME will be replaced by Loupe in the future.

Is there a way to install Loupe as a Flatpak? Just to try it out.

It’s still in development, but you can download an unstable version here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/api/v4/projects/13923/jobs/artifacts/main/raw/org.gnome.Loupe.Devel.flatpak?job=flatpak
