WebkitWebProcess crashed when displaying the message

Hey guys,

Recently I posted an issue about this error in Evolution 3.50.3. Surprisingly, it was solved by downgrading my NVIDIA Linux driver G06 from release 580.75.06 to 550.144.03 because of a problem with this driver. This problem was solved with the new version of NVIDIA driver release 580.82.07, but my issue in Evolution raised back. So I am sure, that there is an incompatibility between libwebkit2gtk 2.48.5 and the new Linux NVIDIA driver.

I have a work around by installing Evolution in a VirtualBox with openSUSE Leap 15.6, so this issue is not urgent anymore for me (but I’de liked it seen solved).

Thanks for the research.

Hi,
you are right, it’s something with the WebKitGTK itself, depending on
the backtrace of the crash and when you run Evolution from a terminal
then also what it prints there before the crash (if anything).

As it’s a WebKitGTK thing, you get the proper audience at:

Bye,
Milan

Depending on the backtrace, maybe it’s 297921 – [GTK] EGL_BAD_PARAMETER crash
