Webcam image freezes in Google Meet in Gnome

When using Google Meet, the webcam image freezes as soon as I switch to another workspace or share my screen. OS Fedora 41.
I tried Ubuntu 24.10 live. The problem is the same. So it is not a distribution-specific issue.
The solution is to disable hardware video acceleration in the browser.
However, in this case, the ability to use virtual backgrounds disappears.
Is there another way to fix this problem, i.e. without disabling hardware video acceleration?

Have you contacted the developers of your web browser?

I tried different browsers, all of them have this issue.
I also tested in live Kubuntu 24.10, Wayland.
The image from the camera does not freeze.
So I concluded that this is most likely an issue of Gnome (Mutter?), and not browsers or distributions, and therefore turned to discourse gnome.
