Hope we can get wallpaper slideshow as using and OLED monitor I don’t like to keep static images on desktop. It would be nice if I can change wallpaper every 45 seconds from a connection of wallpaper locally.
That is already a possibility, at least with a static set of images.
GNOME has supported dynamic wallpapers for a while now, where, according to a timer the image used for the wallpaper changes. Its not fully dynamic as you need to write an XML file that references all images used, as it was originally meant for wallpapers which details change over the course of the day.
But it could theoretically used for a slideshow as well.
While it hasn’t been maintained for a while, the Dynamic Wallpaper Editor should still work.
And if that is not enough, maybe an extension offers what you’re looking for.
