Using touch for Eraser in GIMP

I’d like to set up the touchscreen as an eraser in GIMP. All the results I’ve found are either out of date or inaccurate (not sure). I’ve read at one point that this is possible, but I don’t know how to do it.

What OS and device? If the touch screen acts as a mouse/regular pointer, then you just start the Eraser tool and it will erase where the louse is, so normally under your finger. If you want pressure sensitivity this is more complicated, how many devices are showing in the window you get with Windows > Dockable dialogs > Device status? If there is only one (Core pointer usually, that lumps together all pointing devices, but has no pressure sensitivity) then you will have to find how to add your touch screen as a second device.
