When using the popular scientific graphing tool Gnuplot on Fedora 43 (GNOME 49), the plot window resizes unexpectedly. This issue does not occur on other Linux platforms.
For more details, please refer to the related bug report: gnuplot / Bugs / #2832 The command “set terminal qt size …” changes the size of the plot window
Thank you.
Are you sure this is on GNOME? Or is it on Fedora? Have you tried it on Fedora KDE or XFCE, or on Arch GNOME or Debian GNOME? Which other Linux platforms are you referring to? I only saw Fedora and GNOME mentioned in the bug you linked to and referenced. Correct me if I’m misunderstanding something.
No such issue is observed on Linux Mint 22.2, RHEL 7.9/8.x, or CentOS 7.9. The problem reproduces on Ubuntu 25.10, suggesting it is likely caused by the window manager.
