String Freeze for GNOME 47

Hello all,

No string changes may be made without confirmation from the i18n team.

From this point, developers can concentrate on stability and bugfixing. Translators can work without worrying that the original English strings will change, and documentation writers can take accurate screenshots. [[Freezes of the string freeze]]

For more information about the schedule for GNOME 47,
please see the release calendar.

Thanks,

Just to make sure that the title is correct, is this for GNOME 46 or GNOME 47?

Yes, it’s for GNOME 47.

GNOME 46 has been in string freeze since March 2024.

Hi,
the .ics calendar also says 46 and it is set for the Saturday, not
Wednesday.

Is the .ics calendar still valid and reliable? It’s definitely
convenient to have the dates in the calendar.

For the record, I mean this file:

Bye,

The ICS is generated from the same templates, so the templates need to be fixed and the ICS needs to be regenerated.

When will the new version appear in damned ies? Galician

New version of what?

The new release (47) doesnt appear in damned lies, GNOME Releases so I can start to translate into galician

@frandieguez: As long as modules haven’t branched for a gnome-47 branch there’s no reason why it should be there, and git main (or git master) is the branch that will become 47 at some point.

I’ll investigate this.

String freeze begins on Saturday, but the reminder doesn’t say this. Our reminders are always posted three days in advance. It looks like nobody noticed and complained prior to now simply because all previous string freeze reminders failed to reach Discourse due to various bugs. I’ll try to fix this for next time.

Sorry, I see Emmanuele already fixed it and posted the link to the merge request above. I’ll just add the date to the string freeze announcement.

now it’s available GNOME 47 (stable) - Galician
