Shared GUI session between local and remote

What is the roadmap, if any, of adding the capability to run a remote server that bridges a remote user to a GUi session running locally under their ID?

I’d like to have a workspace that I can connect to both locally and remotely without having to relaunch my GUI apps and get them back to the state they were in when I had to close the GUI session previously.

Hello, you should be able to do that already with gnome-remote-desktop. However there is a limitation where you must be physically logged into the machine for it to work. See here for a discussion about removing that limitation: Remote desktop with locked local screen (#16) · Issues · GNOME / gnome-remote-desktop · GitLab
