[Scheduled maintenance] GitLab / GitLab pages - 04th of December 2024 at 2 PM UTC

Hello,

On Wednesday 04th of December we’ll be performing GitLab / GitLab pages migration to our new platform, hosted in AWS. The maintenance will start at 2 PM UTC with no ETA, we’ll be working to make sure the service is restored as soon as technically possible. Please keep an eye at https://status.gnome.org for updates.

The migration will bring a lot of desired upgrades to this service:

  1. SSD volume for Git repositories
  2. Direct VPC S3 endpoints as we heavily use S3 from within GitLab
  3. Stable and resilient platform built on top of AWS
  4. Performance improvements

This effort is part of the migration described at GNOME Infrastructure migration to AWS · Andrea Veri's Blog.

Thanks,
Andrea

Translators: commits from Damned Lies are affected by the current issues with GitLab and situation should get better when this maintenance is done. Thank you for your patience.

Should this topic be pinned ?

That’s a good idea, I made it a banner but that removed the SSO migration steps which I believe are also important, I’ll revert and let @ebassi handle this with his Discouse admin hat on

I’ve pinned the topic; I’ll likely swap the banner, because this is more important and people should already have switched the sign on process.
