Save my own changes from /usr/share/themes/THEME_NAME

Hi,
I have fiddled around in

$ sudo nano /usr/share/themes/Matcha-dark-azul/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css

and changed some settings to make GNOME to look more the way I want to.
BUT now everytime, when I receive some certain updates for my system, all these changes to gnome-shell.css are lost.

Is there a way beside copying the specified file in order to restore all settings?

Greetings and thanks for any help!

Manjiko

I’m not aware of any package manager that allows to selectively exclude files from updates.

What you can do is copy the entire theme to your home directory:

mkdir -p $HOME/.local/share/themes
cp -r /usr/share/themes/Matcha-dark-azul $HOME/.local/share/themes
