The PPA for shotwell found here
seems to be not up-to-date as there are newer flatpak downloads available from Apps/Shotwell - GNOME Wiki!
When installing the flatpak in says “unstable” instead of the version number.
Well the existence of flatpak highly decreased my motivation of having to do the additional effort to push releases to that PPA
