i tried to sync contacts with my carddav server, which works well for the initial setup. But after the initial setup i am not able to change or delete a contact. In the Preferences section the correct carddav entry is activated.
I also use the calendar app which works well.
i tried to find a solution to manually sync but i can’t find any options to do so.
Hi, your version is outdated and unsupported upstream anymore. We only support latest stable (that is 50 now) and latest oldstable (49). Please upgrade to newest GNOME first.
Hi, thank you jumping in. Since in Debian 13 stable Gnome 50 is a “testing” unstable version, i will search another solution. Btw, it’s little bit annoying that the stable version is no longer supported, but still it is as it is.
The issue is that what Debian considers “stable” has no bearing of what the upstream project considers stable; GNOME makes stable releases for a whole year, but the Debian development cycle does not really match that.
If you want to track GNOME applications on a Debian stable OS, the recommendation is to switch to Flatpak instead of using Debian packages.
Yes, the Debian “so called stable” life cycle is appx. 3 yrs. with appx 5yrs LTS. I agree this is a very long period, but from my point of view i very appreciate this, because i enjoy the stability of the “outdated” software also of my user experience and no need to change every 6 months or so. I also like the clean interface of Gnome which let me focus clearly to my working needs. At the end it’s all about philosophy ……
