Please include Palatino Linotype among the default fonts that ship with Gnome.
So you are willing to sponsor the $378.99 USD for the complete Palatino family. That is for one User. And according to the license agreement, you’d need a license per user. Very generous of you, though I would think that this kind of money is spent better in developing GNOME forward.

Outside of the licensing cost: GNOME does not “ship fonts”. GNOME recommends a font for its UI (Cantarell), a font for documents (Cantarell), and a monospaced font (Source Code Pro). Shipping fonts is left to downstream packagers, who can also choose to change the default fonts.
