Not really. We do have one for Microsoft Exchange (EWS protocol) which is deprecated but still used on on-prem server. Then Microsoft 365 which is the recent protocol to talk with the Microsoft servers off prem and then there is the old “Windows Live” which is still in the public. All are using different methods to do similar stuff. Thank Microsoft for this wild life.
Sounds like the “Microsoft” provider (Windows Live) is obsolete? Can it be removed to reduce user confusion? I’m sure that will be inconvenient for users who are using it, but they can upgrade to Microsoft 365 to continue using email, right?
Then the difference between Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Exchange is unfortunate, but at least those are clearly separate services. It should be much less confusing if we remove the unbranded Microsoft account?
