Man page missing

I recently downloaded the snap.io version of Deja-Dup 42.7 on Ubuntu 20.04.
It appears that I no longer have a deja-dup man page.
I’m having similar issues with the snap.io Duplicity package and not sure if they are related so apologies in advance if this is the wrong venue for discussing this issue.

You probably want to ask the Snap packagers for deja-dup.

Good instinct Emmanuele, but as the upstream maintainer for deja-dup, I also maintain official snap and flathub packages. I’m happy to answer questions here about em.

Jimi, I don’t believe snap packages support man pages in general. You can manually read the file like so:
man /snap/deja-dup/current/usr/share/man/man1/deja-dup.1

But the deja-dup man page is pretty bare, since it doesn’t support that many arguments. You could also get the same info from deja-dup --help.

You can also search for an online version like https://helpmanual.io/man1/deja-dup/ or https://helpmanual.io/man1/duplicity/ (though it may be for a different version than your local package).

Thank you both for your input.
I did find discussions regarding lack of man pages in the forums.snapcaft.io webpage. I’m reading up on it now.
Snap seems to have made it difficult to access man pages in the simple old-school way I’m used to.
I’ll try accessing the snap directories for man pages as suggested.
Thanks again,
Jimi
