Is there any way to enable high contrast mode but keep regular Adwaita icons?

Hi, I really like the high contrast version of the default Adwaita theme, and would like to use it without having to deal with symbolic icons everywhere. I’ve tried to mess around with GNOME Tweaks to achieve this, but no matter what I do, GNOME still seems to force symbolic icons if high contrast mode is enabled. The best I can seem to do is manually set HighContrast as the legacy theme for GTK2/3 applications, but this obviously doesn’t cover GTK4, libadwaita or the shell.

I’m running Debian 12 which uses GNOME 43.

Is there any way to get this done? Thanks!
