Hi there.
I switched from kopano to classical mbox/postfix/imap LAMP server, but for one out of three accounts, all incoming emails are marked as important.
This happens on multiple devices (but all debian 12), and persists if the account is deleted. So this most likely is a server-side issue. But all accounts are configured the same, and neither roundcube nor nextcloud do show the important flag.
How do I get rid of it? Deleting the flag in evolution folder properties is possible, but it’s back on next application start…
Hi,
the folder Properties shows labels set in that particular folder. They
may or may not have their counterpart in the Edit->Preferences->Mail
Preferences->Labels tab.
That $LabelImportant is an internal label. Even if you delete it, it is
re-created, because it’s one of those “always available labels”.
Evolution does not set the label on its own. They are set by the user,
either manually or by a message filter set in Edit->Message Filters->
Incoming. You mentioned multiple machines, thus unless you’ve restored
from a backup on the other machines I believe it’s unlikely you’ve set
the same filter on all of them. Even, it’s enough to have the filter on
a single machine. These labels are saved on the server (when the server
supports it), thus the other machines just use it and show it in the
GUI.
If it’s a server-side thing (can there be involved a server-side
filter?), and unsetting the label for selected messages does not help
(Ctrl+A in the message list, then Message->Mark As->Label->None, or
from the context menu, or press 0), then I’m afraid the only option
would be to change the color of this Important label in the Edit->
Preferences->Mail Preferences->Labels tab, even it does not sound
right.
Thanks. So I guess because this strange account is the only one imported into nextcloud, I guess that NC does these weird things… So I’ll go through the email clients and delete every account until this strange behavior is gone…
