gThumb Catalogs won't go away

I scanned an old drive and created a hierarchy of catalogs which is great. Not so great is you have to delete one at a time and if they are not empty an error is thrown. Even removing the app and reinstalling does not delete them as they persist.

Is there a way to delete the catalogs outside the app? Where are they stored, a data file? Is there a switch I am missing when removing.

I am running MX 23.2 with gThumb 3.12.2. Thanks!

I was able to delete the catalogs from the directory /home/username/.local/share/gthumb/catalogs/.
