[GNOME44][Fedora38][BUG] - Screen Area Freezing and Glitching Similar to 'Windows XP Drag Effect'

Hey guys,

I recently installed the new Fedora 38 which comes with GNOME 44, and I’ve noticed an issue. Randomly, at times, a window minimizes and it kind of freezes a portion of the screen, leaving a buggy area. When dragging windows into this glitched area, it produces an effect reminiscent of that issue in Windows XP when we dragged windows around while an application was frozen.

I recorded a video using my phone because, interestingly, when capturing the screen, OBS doesn’t pick up on this glitch. It’s almost as if the unseen corner of the monitor has shifted into the visible part, causing this effect.

Some considerations:

  • I’m using Xorg due to lag issues between Wayland and certain apps (like VSCode, Discord, etc.);
  • I have the latest 535.54.03 Nvidia driver installed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this bug already known?
