Gnome Terminal appears minimized when open through the file manager

Hi. I’m not sure that this is the right place to ask this question but since it’s about gnome terminal, why not…
I’m using the GTK2 version of PCManFM and I’ve set “gnome-terminal %s” in its options for terminal emulator. In the last year or so (ever since I installed Arch) opening gnome-terminal in the targeted directory using F4, it has always appeared in the foreground - on top of the file manager window. But in the last 2 days or so something happened (I wish I knew what) and gnome terminal started appearing minimized in the panel whenever I press F4.
Any ideas why this might be happening and how to fix it? I suppose I could reinstall Arch but first I wanna try a simpler approach.

P.S. If I press the icon on the panel, GT opens normally. Only if I use F4 to open, it appears minimized.
