When the GNOME interface is running, it consumes the device’s resources greatly, and the device’s fan is constantly running. When the xfce interface is running, it does not consume the device’s resources, and the cooling fan does not turn on except when using powerful tools. Note that I use Kali 2024.1
It would be helpful if you open the system monitor, sorting descending by CPU usage and report which process are consuming the highest CPU percentage.
