So, there is this great piece of software out there called gnome-next-meeting-applet.
It places a calendar icon in the top bar, and when you click upon it you get a preview list of your upcoming events for the next several days.
If an event is only some hours away, this event gets also displayed next to the icon in the top bar.
This app is really useful, and I use it on GNOME and Budgie.
Unfortunately, the app autohor has abandonded this project due to lack of time and not using GNOME anymore.
You can’t install it via Flathub Webpage anymore, since it is unmaintained.
Though, you can still install it via flatpak install com.chmouel.gnomeNextMeetingApplet
Also, it still uses GNOME Platform Version 44 (org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/44).
I am not affiliated to this project in any way, except that I am using it.
I have no coding skills whatsoever my own, but I would love to see this app staying alive and getting updates in sense of being ported to current GNOME Platform and still being available via flathub.
This is the projects github page: https://github.com/chmouel/gnome-next-meeting-applet
The author there asks people who would like to take over the project to contact him on Fosstodon.
So, I just wanted to bring your attention to this, and maybe someone here is capable and willing to support this project. That would be terrific.
Cheers.
