gnome-nds-thumbnailer has been obsoleted by bign-handheld-thumbnailer which also supports thumbnailing 3DS ROMs, and should be more secure being written in Rust.
Most of the code dates back from 2007, so it’s probably a good thing it’s getting modernised and maintained.
