GNOME Headless session in Docker/Podman container

Now that a headless session is possible in gnome. Does anyone know how to setup a headless Wayland session in a container and connect to it using gnome-remote-desktop.

I did some investigations in it a few years ago. It kind of works using Xnest and so on. I need to talk with jdahl about getting this going again.

You can find information here:

Look in containers/test-extensions.sh · master · World / Shell extensions / extensions-rebooted · GitLab

to see how it runs inside an Xnest. Hopefully in a few months I can re-focus on getting this as I’m interested in having a containerized GNOME to QA extensions easily.
