Hello Gnome-Community.
Gnome file sharing (uses WebDAV) for sharing the public folder uses dynamic ports.
The ports changes after a reboot, logout or disabling and enabling of that function.
I wanted to use it behind a firewall and found that the dynamic port assignment makes it impossible to configure the firewall for Gnome file sharing for longer periods.
So it’s either use a firewall and some file sharing other than Gnome or use Gnome file sharing.
Is it planned to change this?
Was it a design decision to only allow this without a firewall? Why?
