GNOME 47.rc released!

Hi,

GNOME 47.rc is available! Final release is very close now!

Important links:

Note this installer image includes an experimental version of the work to integrate systemd-sysupdate in GNOME OS. This was a collaboration between the GNOME Foundation and Codethink through the Sovereign Tech Fund (STF). You can see more details on this blog post series: part 1 and part 2; and here in discourse in this post.

Thanks to everyone involved and please give it a try!

Remember the installer image is meant to be installed in a virtual machine with EFI support (such as the GNOME Boxes version available on Flathub).

WARNING! This is beta quality software. This release is intended for GNOME developers and beta testers. For more information about the 47 release, the full schedule, the official module lists and the proposed module lists, please see our schedule page.

Cheers,
Javier Jardón

I tried it on endeavour OS using the unstable branch and files crashes when moving it to expand the window size and it was using x11 instead of wayland
also the instructions to download the rc sources instead of updating the mirror on a distro is a bit outdated, where this article helped me install gnome 47 rc instead. Will try to see if files stops crashing after reboot again later tonight but think it’s just the wm isn’t wayland so I might have to download the iso from the link or just wait a few days till gnome 47 stable is released.

This announcement is basically intended for distros, for whom the source code is the whole point. GNOME does not itself maintain a distro for end users.
