The GNOME Project is proud to announce the release of GNOME 46, ‘Kathmandu’.
This release brings remote login with RDP, variable refresh rates (VRR), many
accessibility improvements, enhanced notifications and improved Settings. The
Files app comes with a new global search and many other enhancements, and a
whole slew new apps have joined GNOME Circle.

GNOME 46 will be available shortly in many distributions, such as Fedora 40
and Ubuntu 24.04. If you want to try it today, you can look for their beta
releases, which will be available very soon:
We are also providing our own installer images for debugging and testing
features. These images are meant for installation in a vm and require
GNOME Boxes with UEFI support. We suggest getting Boxes from Flathub.
If you are interested in building applications for GNOME 46, look for the
GNOME 46 Flatpak SDK, which is available in the http://www.flathub.org/
repository.
