GNOME 40.3 released

Hi,

GNOME 40.3 is now available. This is a stable bugfix release for GNOME 40. All operating systems shipping GNOME 40 are encouraged to upgrade.

If you want to compile GNOME 40.3, you can use the official BuildStream project snapshot:

GNOME 40.3 is designed to be a boring bugfix update for GNOME 40, so it should be safe to upgrade from earlier versions of GNOME 40.

Actually, 4.3.0 is an unstable release that was mistakenly added to the stable 40.2.

Yeah I just didn’t realize that 4.3 was supposed to be an unstable version series. I was expecting it to either use clearly-unstable numbers like 4.2.90 or .91 or else use .alpha or .beta. If fact, I didn’t realize 4.3 was unstable until right now!

(That’s why GNOME ditched the even/odd version scheme: there’s no way for the humans consuming your software to know what the numbers mean.)
