This is a pretty old issue. A few days ago I replaced the repo version with the flatpak and looks like this issue is common. So I usually open a lot documents what are commonly using Calibri fonts and for that reason I installed the fonts from Windows cause Ubuntu replacement is ugly. After I installed the fonts Geary does using or rendering the fonts differently. Or maybe not even use it. Here’s an example how it looks like:
