[Feature Request] "Open Folder" window selects current folder by default

Hello,
This is a small feature I miss from win11 that would be a quick win to implement:

When having to select a folder from another application, the Files “Open Folder” window is shown. Then you have to navigate through directories and select (click once on) the desired folder, and click “Open”.

This is fine but I instinctively find myself navigating within the desired folder (or double clicking it) and then clicking on the “Open” button which by this time is in an inactive state, since now none of the folders is in a selected state.

The requested feature would be for this “Open Folder” dialog to have the currently shown/opened folder as selected, when no other sub-folder is explicitly selected.

What are your thoughts on this? It would be a minor, and in my opinion harmless feature addition. Should I create a gitlab issue?

+1
This was also the behavior prior to GNOME 48. I find myself all the time returning to the parent folder in order to open the desired folder.
Please bring this behavior back!
