See topic. Not sure i understand why this option is not includded in very first version. If other group of customers decide it should not have seconds then instead if simple/detailed just let user decide what format of time should be in the very same manner as in calendar.

Can you post a screenshot of what you’re referring to?
I’m not sure why we should not have seconds resolution for the detailed date & time format (or better, multiple time formats in a drop down), as we already have seconds resolution in properties.
So, you are with me? Or one ‘not’ is extra?
I meant adding 'seconds' should be fine, since it’s being displayed in other places (Properties dialog) in nautilus by default.
A better alternative would be to have multiple date time formats to select from a dropdown (as in evolution below). Not sure how the design team feels about it though.

From UX point of view such a configuration should be common for all applications, therefore moved to library
