Evolution Printer Color Profile

Hello, I am hoping someone can point me in my the right direction.

I can print on paper and create PDFs with every app, except for Evolution. I create blank pages only. In looking at the Evolution print dialog window, I see that under the Color tab, the Printer Profile indicates “Unspecified profile” for both devices. I assume this is the cause of my problem, and have tried looking for how this is set in Evolution. I have not found anything in Evolution, OS (Archlinux), default desktop (XFCE), Gnome Help, or Gnome Discourse. I have tried using the Evolution Flatpak and installing the Gnome desktop, but still printing blanks within Evolution.

As mentioned earlier, any guidance on this issue would be helpful. Thanks!

Please provide your Evolution version, the package format (rpm, deb, Flatpak, Snap, etc), your distribution, your distribution version.

Thank you Andre for your response.

  • Evolution, version 3.58.2 .pkg from Arch Linux official repository.
  • Arch Linux Rolling release, currently on kernel 6.18.2.arch2-1

Hi,
talking about mail printing, it’s done by the WebKitGTK. I think it had
some issues with printing, but it could be many versions ago; I do not
recall precisely, I’m sorry.

As a workaround, try to print to a file (that the WebKitGTK can do
fine), then print to a printer this PDF file instead. I understand it’s
an extra step, which can be a problem when you print many messages
every day.

The print dialog used to be fully managed by the WebKitGTK itself, into
which Evolution did not have direct access. It simply tells WebKitGTK
to “print this web page” and the rest is left to the WebKitGTK itself.

Bye,
Milan

Thank you Milan,

I will looking into webkitgtk further.
