i use archlinux and i have installed gnome-42 i used to use the fcgu version but i switched to mainstream regos but in both versions the dark mode doesn’t work
This is 100% a packaging/installation issue, please refer to the arch forums.

Make sure you have xdg-desktop-portal-gnome installed.

installing gnome-extras fixed it
