Compatibility with WinRAR archives?

I have installed the Debian package unrar-free so I assume file-roller to be able to uncompress RAR archives, correct?

However it doesn’t work, file-roller exists after showing a popup “Extraction not performed”.

The RAR file I’m trying to uncompress is:

$ file file.rar 
file.rar: RAR archive data, v4, os: Win32

and is successfully uncompressed with unrar file.rar.

So I install the non-free rar shareware (lol) package and now file-roller can successfully uncompress everything.

What’s exactly the compatibility with WinRAR archives?

Issue seems resolved in file-roller 44.4
