Color separation for screen printing

Is possible to do color separation like spot colors etc

I need to make project for screen printing

Filters > Distorts > Newsprint and then Colors > Components > Decompose? Will even do CYMK.

I’m not sure what you mean by “spot colors” and “screen printing”. Do you mean silkscreen?

The printing process that uses dots of colors is called “half-toning” and involves the use of “half-tone screens”. It is used with photo-lithography. I may be wrong, but I think this technique is beyond the scope of GIMP, but it might be possible to come close to it.

I believe there is some way of creating separate layers containing CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow black) values, and I seem to remember doing this at some point, but I don’t remember what the menu items were.
