Can't delete this acct

Launched a virgin copy of Geary and out of the box it creates an acct. with a weird name (goa_account_1557090495_0) that I cannot delete. The delete button does not show up in the acct dialog box. If I delete the config files in ~/.local/share/geary and ~/.config/geary it just creates itself again.

Below is the log.

GOA stands for GNOME Online Accounts.

Here’s what happened: you added an online account and you let the Mail enabled, so that account is automatically picked up by Geary. You should use GNOME Online Account to remove it from Geary: just open GNOME Settings>Online Accounts, click on the account and switch off the Mail option.

Dawn breaks over Marblehead! (That’s a local joke). I knew there was a clue in there but I didn’t know what goa stood for. Thanks. I use Cinnamon but the account was lurking there in the Online Account settings as you said. It was marked with a bang! indicating the credentials were no longer valid. Removed it and the account went away.

I have always used Thunderbird but I like the Geary interface better - less cluttered I think. I may be a convert.

Thanks again,
Geoff
