Cannot selectively delete trash

I know this topic is floating around the internet but I thought I’d stop by and try the experts here.
Ubuntu 22.04 with Evolution 3.44.4-0ubuntu1 as shown in About Evolution.

Issue: I cannot selectively delete files in Trash. I’ve researched this but most tips are from years ago and the menus have changed.

Is the suggested method to create a search for specific emails then delete them? That can be tedious when you have thousands of emails you’d like to expunge/delete.

Any help much appreciated.

You don’t say what kind of account this is. If it’s IMAP, there is no concept of selective expunging of Trash. It’s all or nothing. Other types of account may have different models.
