Cannot quickly exit System Menu/Notifications

Hey all. It seems to me that the System Menu/Notifications should be easier to exit. For clarity (in case I’ve got their names wrong) I’m talking about the pop-up modals that appear when you click the network/sound/battery icons in the top right corner of the screen or the top-centre date and time.

Example: I discover that wifi is switched off. I access the System Menu and toggle the wifi button. I am now done with this menu and I should, imho, be able to press Alt+Tab to switch between open apps, or Super to search for something.

The need to press escape or click away from the menu is unnecessary and interrupts the workflow and user experience.

I’m trying to keep this concise but I can’t simply neg on this without also acknowledging: GNOME DE is awesome and I hugely appreciate all of your efforts!

Thanks @Sid.

Hmm. It’s similar, however my expected user experience is that you shouldn’t require any “clicks”; a common and frequently used GNOME keyboard shortcut should suffice. What would you suggest? Adding a comment to the open issue?

This sounds more like: Shortcuts and gestures don't work when gnome-shell popover is shown (#5977) · Issues · GNOME / gnome-shell · GitLab
