Call to Nautilus from Brave browser crashes GNOME Shell

Hello, I’ve wanted to report the issue that is in the title. After downloading a file I wanted to see it from Downloads so by Brave I wanted to open the file manager and the loading icon appeared and then my shell crashed for a moment. Pressed Super key and killed the Nautilus process. This problem has been happening for some days. I’ve read the logs and it seems to be a problem with the connection to the org.freedesktop.Tracker3.Miner.Files service. I’ve tried to fix the problem on my own but nothing seemed to work. Could anyone help me with this?

I’m on EndeavourOS x86_64 with GNOME 47 on Wayland (AMD/NVIDIA graphics).

Full logs of that particular boot session and the filtered Nautilus errors are here.

Sorry for my english, it’s not my native language.
Thanks in advance!

Seeing as EndeavourOS is Arch Linux based: I’m on Arch Linux running GNOME 47 on Wayland and opening Nautilus from Brave (using “Show in folder” for a download) works for me.

I have brave-bin installed from AUR. I tried it with a JPG image. Do you have Brave installed a different way and/or did it happened with another file type? Maybe that plays a role if so.

According to that log you are running a X11 session:

Oct 18 16:56:35 michi systemd[1383]: GNOME Shell on Wayland was skipped because of an unmet condition check (ConditionEnvironment=XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland).
Oct 18 16:56:35 michi systemd[1383]: Starting GNOME Shell on X11…

And there is nothing about gnome-shell crashing in your logs, only the X server having a fatal server error. But that might be after what you are describing.

Maybe you are talking about Nautilus Freeze when it is maximized (On Arch base system) (#7035) · Issues · GNOME / gtk · GitLab? (Note that this is not limited to window maximization, despite that title)
