I have this issue where, when I open any file in any app using either the Nautilus-based file chooser or GNOME Shell search, my system either freezes and crashes completely or everything becomes very slow (i.e., apps take 30 seconds+ to launch). Using the older file choosers works fine.
It started after I updated to the kernel 6.13 and NVIDIA drivers 570.86.16. I updated both at the same time so I’m not sure which might be responsible.
Here are the logs. I’m not an expert, so someone might be able to correct me, but it seems like the problem starts with xdg-desktop-portal-gnome
and leads to some kind of CPU usage issue? I just don’t want to open an issue in xdg-desktop-portal-gnome
yet in case I’m wrong.

I don’t know if it’s relevant to this issue but where there are multiple apps capable of opening a file, the shell search doesn’t respect my default app preference. It started at the same time so it might be linked.
Here’s my system info if it helps. I’m using the proprietary 570.86.16 NVIDIA driver.
