Blurry font rendering with GNOME 47-RC and fractional scaling

I do not really know which part of the GNOME causes the problem so I decided to ask here instead of going to GitLab.
Font rendering with any fractional scale on my Fedora 41 Wayland happens to be very blurry. Below are screenshots with 150% fractional scaling via display settings vs 1.5 text scaling via GNOME Tweaks.

Below are some information about my system from the GTK Inspector

Thanks you for any help.

Sorry, for some reason blurriness is not as evident in the browser image viewer, so I picked another screenshot. Link is below

  1. 1.5 Text scaling
  2. 150% GNOME scaling

I’ve noticed this too with scaling set to 1.25. Interestingly, it only seems to affect labels in list boxes or popovers. Mostly obvious in gnome-control-center, and only in the hardware accelerated renderers (i.e. not cairo).

Hm, that’s interesting. I have my fonts blurry in every application, most noticeably in Firefox.

I think I found an issue that causing it.

Sadly, there are no workarounds that would be acceptable for me

The issue you linked to says it only affects GTK 4, which Firefox doesn’t use. So either that’s not your issue or the issue description is wrong.

It looks like an assumption made by issue starter. I found a mention of Telegram being blurry too in the discussion but it is not a GTK4 application

I might be encountering a similar issue. I’ve uploaded an issue with screenshots at Ptyxis's font is noticeably thinner in Fedora 41 (GNOME 47) (#236) · Issues · Christian Hergert / ptyxis · GitLab.
