Some times I install an application from several origins (for testing purpose, for example).
The launcher Icon do not provide any hints about the origin and it usually has the same name/icon which makes it hard to differentiate the origin.
It would be nice to add an “apk” or “flatpack” mini icon or text, on the icon. It could also be possible to group the applications (similar to the behaviour of Super+` when switching between the running applications)
To distinguish the origin it could be an extra parameter of the desktop file.
So it would be something like (sorry I am not a good gimper… it is not centered, because I added the third one manually, sorry):
