Allow Post editing of older posts

Is it discussable (technically / politically) to allow editing of first posts forever ?

Background:
I try to update my first posts with the solution or a wrap-up of the most important parts of a conversation. Especially for long conversations, I think this is helpful for other uses, because they won’t need to read every single post and go through the whole story.

No. Necro-threads are a problem, especially because not everyone is reading every single topic, so it’s easy to sneak spam into them.

We don’t pay per thread: you can always open a new one.

Use the “solution” check, if present. Otherwise, Discourse will automatically try and summarise long topics.
