I use gnome 46 with fedora 41.
Is there a solution (extension for example) so that recent files appear on the application icons like on Windows (see screenshot).
When you right-click on an application launcher, such as Libreoffice Writer, you can directly start some of the latest files used with the software in question. You can even pin a particular file.
I hope I’ve made my explanations clear enough.

From my knowledge, there isn’t an solution that exactly matches your question.
There exists an extension which provides a menu showing all recently used items (GitHub - lgoio/RecentItems: Enhanced Recent Items - an extension for gnome-shell), which should show the same results as the recent files list in the Files app.
It may be possible to extend the extension to show app-specific entries on the app launcher, based on matching the logged app executable in the recent records with the desktop file, but its not entirely trivial.

Sinon, une piste pour modifier les entrées de menu :
You could use the little arrow icon next to the Open button in the LibreOffice toolbars, which shows the recent files for those applications (especially in version 25.2+). They don’t automatically keep themselves clean, though, and it’s really hard to convince LibreOffice folks about this being a problem…
