After using GitLab and GIMP for a while, its perhaps useful to share the basics of what I’ve learned, so that more people might contribute. Git was an obstacle, now it’s one of my most useful tools.

Interestingly, for me, ‘Git’, like ‘Gimp’ is also a derogatory term in my locality.
