Put GS panel in the background

Hi all,
hi @fmuellner !

I made this extension:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/7099/dock-unroll/
to maximize the available display.
(I realize this may be completely in the real Shell’s way to remove the top panel but that’s another story.)

Well, I did not find a way to avoid all the (small) glitches caused by the initial panel allocation when the overview is shown/hidden. (Here I cannot simply show/hide the panel because it breaks the hot edge.)

I saw you did avoid these glitches in Window List extension (digression: it would be great to have the new preview features in GS 46).

  1. Is there a way to put the top panel in the background, I mean all the windows can overlap the panel ? (=> panel allocation is persistent, so no glitches)
  2. If not, do you think to any idea to get rid of these overview glitches ?

Thanks!
