For a NFS mounted directory path, the path reverts back to the top directory automatically after a while

For a NFS mounted directory path to view some files (/project/proj1/file1), after a period of time, the path reverts back to the top directory (/project) automatically.

How do I configure nautilus to hold the directory path?

RHEL 8.8 ; Files ver 3.28.1-stable.

This was already solved in Allows automounted filesystem containing current view to time out, causing updir (#1514) · Issues · GNOME / Files · GitLab, but your version is way out of date and will not get this functionality.

That should be already fixed in nautilus-3.28.1-25.el8 (see 2100426 – NFS automount filesystem containing current view to time out, causing updir in nautilus.).
