Workspace overview should show top bar & app bar on all monitors

Hello GNOME team,

I’m using Debian 13 with GNOME 48, and first of all I want to say how much I love GNOME. The design philosophy and the fluid UX make my daily workflow a joy — I truly admire the team that created this experience.

There is just one limitation that blocks my flexibility: when I trigger the workspace overview gesture (lifting three fingers on the trackpad), only the primary monitor shows the top bar and app bar. On secondary monitors, these bars and the applications overview are missing.

For multi-monitor setups, this breaks the natural flow. What I really wish for is that during workspace overview (or workspace switching), all monitors show their own top bar, app bar, and application overview simultaneously. With such an improvement, I honestly wouldn’t feel the need to use any other OS.

I believe adding this feature would make the experience even more flexible and natural — going beyond what other operating systems provide. This is very important for my workflow, and I’d be very grateful if it could be considered for a future update. (I’d even buy 20 people a coffee to prioritize it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:).

Thank you so much for the passion, care, and vision you put into GNOME. You’re building not just a desktop environment, but a way of working that inspires people like me. Please keep pushing forward — this improvement could be another step that defines how intuitive and empowering a modern desktop can be.

I have the same problem
