Welcoming Deepa Venkatraman to the Board of Directors

I’m thrilled to share the news that Deepa Venkatraman has been appointed to sit on the GNOME Foundation Board of Directors. Deepa has already been serving as Treasurer since June of this year, and has made significant contributions, particularly around financial planning and budgeting. The Board felt that she would make an outstanding director, and was extremely happy that she accepted the offer of the new position.

Deepa has taken the seat that was recently vacated by Karen Sandler, and the appointment was made in accordance with the procedure for filling Board vacancies, as set out in point 8.4.4 of the bylaws.

Many thanks to Deepa for agreeing to take on this role and for all her work so far on the Board!

Thanks, Allan.

I am honoured to have been asked to join the GNOME Foundation’s Board of Directors and am happy to accept the role.

Over the last few months, I’ve enjoyed contributing to the Foundation as Treasurer. I feel strongly about the importance of access to sustainable, trustworthy free software, and look forward to working more closely with the Board and the community to advance this mission.
